About Comments
Just a quick note about how the comment “work-flow” has been established here at FF&W. First-time commentators do need to go through a painless approval process. Just follow the instructions for supplying a name and an e-mail address (e-mail is not shared, collected, sold, etc.), and submit. The commentator’s IP address is scanned by an anti-spam system and then forwarded on to me if it checks out. At that point, I have to make the “yes/no” decision to approve the commentator. Once the commentator is approved, that’s it, and all future comments from that commentator are automatically approved. If a commentator uses multiple IP addresses (say, home and work), then each IP address has to be approved. But it is still painless (the small amount of work in the process falls to me).
The system I use, which requires my actual, physical input, means that this blog enjoys basically no poorly worded ***V1@grA*** ads, and prevents miscellaneous garbage comments tossed out by “Bots” and so forth. I know that this process can reduce the overall number of comments and discussion, but I’d rather keep FF&W running as smoothly as possible.
So, to those who have taken the time to comment, and have gone through the initial authorization, I appreciate your patience. And to all FF&W visitors, I appreciate your on-going readership and understanding. Thanks!
