Drawing Flies 52 – 12_Bomber
Drawing Flies 52 Bomber (Horned Bomber, to be precise). Pen-and-ink on craft paper, scanned, and then manipulated in Adobe Illustrator.
Tech info: To come! But for now…I did use all 30 minutes, with nothing to spare (didn’t get to actually make a physical print in the 30 minutes, but the file exists as you see it).
The drawing from which the scan was taken (crinkled paper is deliberate):
Jeff’s Bomber is here. Jeff went for the details! Nice work, my friend. I’ll post more later…

I really like this graphic. To me it’s reminiscent of a wood-cut print. I can’t believe you were able to get this done today considering you raced back from Medford and straight to work (minus letting me steal a kiss ;-)! Nice work.
I powered it when I got back (after seeing you ;-) ), and just managed to get it finished (well, there’s a bit more I’d like to do, and maybe I’ll make a few minor adjustments to a duplicate file).
You should turn that into a t-shirt right away! Great looking print.
JB- Great job for being out of town and hurrying back just to get the fly done! Hope your trip went well. Great job on the sketch and the digital conversion. I agree with Kelley, it has a woodcut look. Another great one. Send over the MidCurrent info when you get a chance!
Got an e-mail asking how I was able to draw so many water drops so fast in Illustrator. The answer is that I didn’t draw them. I have a “spatter” font that I used (literally typing the spatter effects). Getting the water down and placed where I wanted it took only the last few minutes.
