Trout’s Eye Hoppers
These are a couple of shots that I had posted over at FlyTalk, but I thought they’d be of interest here, too. Basically a trout’s eye view of a real hopper, along with a furled variation of the Bow Legged Hopper pattern (original, non-furled recipe below). You can see the edge of the fish’s window in these shots with blue sky behind and a reflection of the bottom outside the window (the “bottom” here being the bottom of the slant tank).
Hopefully these shots give a bit of food for thought, and perhaps some ideas for the tying bench. For those who dig this type of thing, there are some more “trout’s eye” views of flies here.

Cool!! I will have to tie some of these up for the coming hopper season.
Bill—Hope you have a great hopper season. The furled variation shown in the photo is less work to tie, but you may or may not want an extended body (your call).
