Drawing Flies 52 – 19_Sand Shrimp
Drawing Flies 52 Sand Shrimp (variation). This fly is for everyone dealing with the Gulf oil spill, and hoping that disaster can somehow be averted in the marshes and beaches of “sportsman’s paradise.”
Tech info: Brush-tip Pigma pen with watercolor. Feeling like I got my “drawing mojo” back after two weeks of mediocrity! This one felt really good, everything was relaxed and nothing gave me any trouble. Just came out like I’d hoped, and ran up just shy of the 30-minute limit. Went with a more heavily dressed variation of the core pattern (based on a commercial version of the fly), and the brush-tip pen almost gave the look of “hot rod flames.” More notes to follow….

JB-When I first looked at your rendition, I thought hot rod flames! Glad you got your “MOJO” back! There is nothing like confidence to help rip through a drawing. The blue backround (looks like blueprint paper) really makes makes the orange jump off the page. Nicely done my friend!
How about next week we get back to basics with a Woolly Worm!
