Drawing Menagerie
So, finally got the illustration issues sorted for the book series, and am neck deep in the new stuff right now (well, in the early mornings and late evenings, at least). I had a friend ask me if I do the illustrations like I do a dedicated drawing or painting for sale—in other words, one per sheet, nicely centered. Not quite.
See that mess of hen scratching above? Those are drawings that will, in one form or another, end up in Fishing the Film (actually, they are already post-processed and in the book as I write this). Not pretty, but I don’t tend to waste paper on this stuff, and I like to be able to work and re-work the same drawing several times if necessary. As a result I can get pretty chaotic with how things are done.
None-the-less, from the chaos comes some sort of order, and it’s an order that I hope at least a few FF&W readers will like when it’s all in finished form.
