Some Favorite Art – A.D. Maddox
I am sometimes asked as an artist (well, let’s call me what I am—an illustrator who sometimes dabbles with paint) whose art I personally like. I have a long list, and much of it has nothing to do with fly fishing in any way. But, when it comes to angling art, I do have my faves, and right now one artist who is really doing some work that I think is outstanding is A.D. Maddox.
The pieces that are getting me excited are A.D.’s more recent series of water-level views of trout at the surface. They really speak to me in many ways, not the least of which is the sense of flow and light. My three favorites:
