More Bunyan Buggery
So, after the DF52 Bunyan Bug post, my friend, John Beth, contacted me about his Bunyan Bug adventures. John, as previously mentioned, is a bit of Bunyan Bug fan (and general old tackle fan, too) who fishes for coho with a BB, and has composed music for a number of the videos/TV shows that my father and I have done. His email had some pix that I thought at least a few FF&W readers might find interesting. Some of John’s work:

Above: (Left) Bunyan Bug Hopper. (Right) Bunyan Coho Bugs. Below: A collection of John’s more traditional Bunyan Bugs in an array of sizes. I actually have a small number of John’s Bugs, and suppose that I should go out and fish them instead of just keeping them in a dark drawer somewhere!

John, as you can see, is quite talented in all he does, including the building of Bunyan Bugs. In addition, as far as I know, John still holds the record for the largest fly-caught brown trout from Wisconsin’s famed Sheboygan River (something on the order of 26+ pounds using the most current salmonid weight formula).
