Getting into “Long Flies” and an E-List Update
So the next book in GB’s “Fly Fishing” series—Long Flies—is well underway. Actually, I’m keying in edits tonight, and then onto illustrations and photos. The book is a surprisingly fast read considering that it hits a bunch of history along the way, as well as fly patterns. I think that those interested in the subject (“long flies” meaning streamers, bucktails, strip flies, etc.) will find the read to be interesting, entertaining, and (hopefully) useful. Like all the other books in this series (Fishing the Film and Reading Waters so far), this book is planned to come in at $24.95, even with the inclusion of a section of color (80 flies are planned to be shown). More about the project as I dig deeper and get it ready for press.
Along those same lines, I am also working out the latest FF&W E-List mailing. There will be a copy of Reading Waters up for grabs, as well as some free art for everyone, and one piece of special art for one lucky list member. As it will be the September/October mailing, expect it in a week or so.
